About me

I’m a freelance editor and proofreader with over 17 years of professional experience. I work on commercial, organisational, and educational texts.

My editing career began at a news website. I then spent over a decade as a QA proofreader of confidential documents. Both roles were formative. They taught me about the more and the less colourful sides of editorial work.

While still working in QA, I took the UCSD copyediting certificate and a tutor-assessed course in proofreading at the PTC. This training took over a year in total. I really enjoyed my studies and still say that I’m a big fan of lifelong learning.

I began freelancing in 2022. Since then, I’ve protected the clarity and accuracy of thousands of documents. I’ve edited many different types of text, including company and project reports, application statements, course presentations, art show copy, speeches, and academic papers.

I enjoy helping clients to get their message across. I also feel that editing and proofreading are a privilege. My work has taught me about the lives and livelihoods of people in Britain and around the world.
