My background

I’m an editor and proofreader with over 17 years of professional experience. I specialise in commercial, organisational, and educational documents.

My editing career began at an international news website, where I carried out online fact-checking. After that, I spent 12+ years as a QA proofreader of confidential documents about people’s lives. The role gave me a methodical approach to cross-checking information that I still rely on today.

While working as a proofreader, I took UC San Diego’s copyediting certificate and a tutor-assessed course in proofreading at the Publishing Training Centre. This education provided me with the breadth and experience I needed to start freelancing.

Over the past four years, I’ve protected the clarity and accuracy of thousands of documents. At this stage of my career, my job is very varied. I’ve edited texts as diverse as company and project reports, application statements, course presentations, art show copy, speeches, and academic papers.
